If you’re reading this blog it’s probably because you think we might have some things in common so why don’t I tell you a little about myself so you can decide if it’s worth your time to stick with me? (Although if you’re like me, you enjoy “wasting time” reading what other people are up to. Blogs are a busy-body’s dream!)
I adore traveling. Doesn't matter where I’m going or how I’m getting there. I love every aspect...researching, planning, waiting in airports. I love it all. I've been fortunate to visit a ton of interesting places. It all started when I was a little girl and my parents would take my siblings and me on business trips with them. We visited everywhere from Disney World to the Grand Canyon and I loved every minute of it.
I also love food. I’m a Texan and here in the South we believe that real butter is the answer to most of life’s great questions. Tea should be sweet and biscuits should be fluffy. I can eat Mexican food for three meals a day, every day. Salsa is my love language. Coke can be Coca-Cola or Dr. Pepper. Bluebell ice cream is the only acceptable store-bought version. All conversations are better over a hot beverage and a sugary treat.
I spend my free time hanging out with my family and friends (I have the cutest niece and nephew on the planet), cooking, reading, and knitting. Yep, I’m 28 and I love to knit. I have a Sirius Radio subscription just so I can listen to the Elvis station whenever I want. My enthusiasm for Disney movies is greater than any group of 10 year olds you could find. I drool over catalogs from Anthropologie and have a serious obsession with Essie nail polish. I have a decades long crush on the entire British Royal Family. I’m so un-athletic that I can trip when I’m standing still but I can’t get enough of the Houston Astros or the Arkansas Razorbacks. Woo Pig!
Most importantly I am completely in love with my Savior. I am constantly in awe of the love and grace He shows me each day. I try to live in a way that glorifies Him, whether it’s through my day job, through cooking, or through conversations over coffee.
A few names and definitions to make reading my blog easier:
Lyndsey, Brent, and Ciana are my siblings.
Cash and Rosalie are Lyndsey's kiddos. AKA the cutest kids ever.
Kerry was my roommate through most of college and we went on a Grand Adventure together last year...see below.
Cara and I have known each other for more than 10 years and have gone on several great trips together. We also come up with reasons to get together and try new recipes!
Ashley and I met when I was in the 8th grade. We've traveled together a couple of times and have always enjoyed cooking together. We have an annual Christmas Baking Day (which has been known to turn into Baking Weekend...) that is always fun, though we can't make fudge together to save our lives.
Grand Adventure refers to the 2 1/2 week trip Kerry and I took to Paris, Rome, Athens, Monte Carlo, Ephesus, and Jerusalem.
